The Salem County Waste Advisory Council (SWAC) hosted a public meeting on March 31, 2025, at the Salem County Improvement Authority. This meeting was the third public meeting to review Giordano’s Recycling (Vineland, NJ) application for a proposed materials recovery facility (MRF) in Salem City.
To conclude the meeting, a roll call vote was necessary. The result was seven (7) YES votes and six (6) NO votes.
The Commissioners will schedule a public hearing to consider the proposed facility and Plan amendment. The Commissioners shall hold the public hearing within ninety (90) days of the SWAC meeting. After adoption by the Commissioners, the Plan Amendment will be sent to NJDEP for its approval.
