WHO IS AFFECTED BY THIS ADVISORY?
All DEP registered Solid, Medical, and Hazardous Waste Transporters. This advisory does not apply to Public Entity (Government) registrants or a transporter that received an initial registration after February 1, 2023, and has decals that are valid through June 30, 2025.

WHY IS DEP ISSUING THIS ADVISORY?
The currently issued DEP Transporter decals will expire on June 30, 2023. These decals must be renewed online using a web-based online service which will allow transporters to obtain new decals for their equipment and update information for such equipment. Solid and hazardous waste disposal facilities must deny entry to any vehicle with an expired decal, or piece of equipment that does not display a valid, current decal at time of entry.

WHAT IS DEP DOING?
Several notification e-mails have been sent to each registered waste transporter with information on the deadline to renew their transporter decals (May 1, 2023) and how to complete the process. DEP is not able to guarantee a renewal received after the deadline will be processed prior to the expiration on June 30, 2023. There will be no extensions or exceptions made for renewals received into June that are not processed by June 30, 2023. Any transporter found to be operating with expired decals will be subject to enforcement action and penalty.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
The online renewal service will allow you to obtain decals for currently registered equipment, update information for such equipment, and register additional equipment.

There are advantages to logging in and using an NJDEP online account. When logged in you have more time to complete the process, a session may be completed over several days, and a history is created that provides a record of previous submissions from the account. Alternatively, completing an online renewal without an account means it must be completed in one session and you Will not have a history of past submissions (it is like making an online purchase as a Guest).

WHO SHOULD I CONTACT WITH QUESTIONS?
