Participation is limited to Salem County Residents ONLY **NO BUSINESSES ALLOWED**
The Salem County Improvement Authority will host a FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection event for Salem County residents on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 286 Welchville Road, Alloway NJ 08001.
ACCEPTED ITEMS:
Oil based paints and paint thinners, furniture strippers and finishing products, solvents and degreasers, wood preservatives, metal cleaners/polishes, aerosols, fluorescent light tubes and compact florescent bulbs, nail polish, pesticides, herbicides, weed killer, fertilizers, gasoline, kerosene, antifreeze, motor oil and used oil filters, swimming pool acids, used cooking oil, li-ion, ni-cad, and rechargeable batteries. ITEMS WE CAN NOT ACCEPT: Explosives or water reactive chemicals, shock sensitive chemicals, radioactive waste, infectious waste, 2,4,5-TP silvex; unidentifiable or excess quantities of waste.
EVENT REMINDERS:
Salem County Residents Only! Materials must be identifiable and/or in original container. Maximum quantity limited to 200 lb of DRY material not exceeding 100 lb per container; and 20 gallons of LIQUID material not to exceed 5 gallons per container, per participant. Please use DOT-approved containers when transporting gas/kerosene.
