First and foremost, we apologize that our two 2025 shredding events did not meet your expectations. Frankly, we were disappointed too. In the past, we were partnered with DocuVault and have hosted many successful shredding events for Salem County residents. In late 2024 DeVault’s parent company decided to eliminate community shredding events. In early 2025, we were forced to find a new document shredding vendor. We held our first event with a new vendor on March 29. That event ended early (~11:00 am) due to the truck reaching capacity at 3.97 tons. Immediately after that event, we contacted the vendor and aligned a larger truck for our November 15 event. This was confirmed again in late October, prior to launching our advertising campaign. Unfortunately, when the shredder truck arrived on November 15, we quickly realized it was the same size truck as was provided for the March event. That’s also when we were told that the larger truck was out of service and awaiting repair. Forced with no alternative, and many residents already waiting in line, we proceeded with the event. Sadly, the truck reached full capacity by ~10:30 am and some residents were turned away. Again.- To make this right, we are hosting another 2-hour event on Friday, December 5, 2025, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
- There will be a strict limit of 3 boxes per person.
- Please kindly remove junk mail, magazines, newspapers, etc.
- Sensitive documents that should be brought to this event would include medical, financial, legal, insurance, employment information.
