Approximately 125 residents participated in our recent Household Hazardous Waste collection. 3.82 tons (7,640 lb) of hazardous materials was collected and will be recycled or safely disposed.
We thank you for participating and encourage you to do so again in the Fall. Our next Household Hazardous Waste event will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.
Why do we host this event? Hazardous waste poses a serious threat to humans and the environment. Incorrect disposal can lead to dangerous chemicals and toxins entering and contaminating groundwater supplies. This can cause illness and disease and harm wildlife and ecosystems. It is our goal to capture as many HHW items as possible, avoiding exposure risks due to improper disposal.
