On October 6, 2019, Cub Scout Pack #5 from Alloway helped the Salem County Improvement Authority, the New Jersey Clean Communities Council and the Ocean Conservancy conduct the 2019 Waterways Visual Litter Survey at Ft. Mott State Park in Pennsville. This project is a visual litter survey of New Jersey’s waterways, including beaches, rivers, lakes, streams, streets leading to waterways and/or storm drains. The purpose is to identify the types and amounts of litter, develop solutions to the litter problem and ultimately reduce litter.

The weather was cloudy and windy, but not too cold. Everyone had a great time helping clean up the beach and gather important data!
